PROJECT – ARNOTT STREET, TRIGG
This is an unbuilt project for a house on a prominent site in Trigg Beach.
The block runs from east to west and allows all the living spaces to have a Northerly aspect.
The block is on the corner of a fairly busy road so any house would have to contend with traffic noise along the southern boundary.
The concept is to shield the occupants from the traffic to the south, yet still give them visual access to the bushland reserves directly opposite and to the south east and also take full advantage of the northerly aspect of the block.
The southern elevation shows face brick protruding through a rendered and faceted blade wall designed to shield the occupants from the predominant weather and traffic noise and cup the sunny space created to the north.
To maximise visual interaction with the bushland opposite a flat deck has been designed over the double garage. It protects the inner courtyard areas and affords great views whilst maintaining an element of separation due to the elevated position.
The Master Suite is situated upstairs and to the rear with another large balcony again allowing visual access to the bushland and the easterly sunrise.

PROJECT – SEAHORSE PARADE, KARRINYUP
This house is a variation of a display home by one of Perth oldest builders.
The block was significantly longer and narrower than the design allowed for, making for some design challenges along the way.
We needed to maintain as much width as possible in the open plan living spaces and still create interest along the entire boundary and within the outer courtyards.
Creative landscaping and feature wall decorations were essential elements incorporated for this purpose.
